Top Matches I Watched in November 2025

By Alex Kalil

ree

11 months down and 1 to go! We got some good stuff from WWE including maybe one last John Cena match. AEW killing it with Blood and Guts, Full Gear AND the Continental Classic! Plus NJPW and Dragon Gate to keep us entertained.

John Cena vs. AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel 2025: An epic bomb-fest and tribute match from these two former rivals. Things start off nice and slow with AJ having the speed advantage and Cena having the power advantage. Some nice stick and move offense from AJ as he tries to chip away at Cena and put him away quickly. Cena is able to cut off AJ and runs through his trademark offense and even hits an AA very early in the match for a near-fall. AJ starts to comeback and attempts a Styles Clash but Cena blocks with a Miz Skull Crushing Finale. We get a really great back and forth counter sequence as both men try for a variety of submissions including a STF, Crossface, a Rusev Accolade, a Samoa Joe choke, a Jericho Walls of Jericho, a Calf Crusher and back to a STF. That was excellent. AJ fights out of the STF into a Styles Clash for a near-fall. AJ goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Cena catches him with Bray Wyatt's Sister Abigail! More back and forth bombs from both men as well as tributes to their past rivals. Cena hits an Orton DDT and a RKO for a near-fall but misses the Punt and AJ hits Cena with an AA. AJ hits a Sweet Chin Music and a Phenomenal Forearm but still can't put Cena away. Cena fights back and muscles AJ up for an AA for a near-fall before looking for the Avalanche AA. AJ is able to fight him off and goes for a Crossbody but Cena catches him. Tombstone Piledriver by Cena! One last AA and Cena gets the win! A whole lot of fun here with both guys spamming finishers and moves from past rivals. Lots of big near-falls that the crowd was eating up the whole time. Just a fun match to sit back and enjoy. ****1/4

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Match: El Desperado (c) vs. YOH at NJPW Road to Destruction 2025 Night 10: A fun and engaging back and forth match. Things start off with both men trying to out-wrestle the other. YOH is able to control early by out-pacing Desperado with his speed and agility. Desperado fires right back by going after YOH's knee to slow him down and set up for Numero Dos. Some great targeted offense by Desperado as he goes after YOH's knee like a shark smelling blood in the water while YOH sells it perfectly. YOH is able to create some openings for himself by nailing Desperado with some DDTs, which start to chip away at Desperado's neck. The work pays off when Desperado can't lock in Numero Dos due to the damage done to his neck for a nice spot. We get a really good back and forth sequence of counters and exchanges from both men before YOH nails a Kami-YOH-e and locks in an Anaconda Vice but Desperado is able to get to the ropes. YOH tries for Direct Drive, but Desperado counters with a Pinche Loco! Cover and YOH kicks out at 1! Desperado stays on him though and nails a Jay Driller and one more Pinche Loco to put away YOH. Just a really good back and forth match. YOH looked to have the tools to beat Desperado as he was able to fight through the pain in his knee and some of Desperado's best shots but just couldn't put him away on this night. ****

ROH World Championship Match: Bandido (c) vs. Mascara Dorada at AEW Collision 11/1-Fright Night Collision: A great back and forth battle from these two Luchadors. Fast pace opening exchanges from both men which highlights the power advantage of Bandido and the speed and agility advantage of Dorada. Bandido goes for a dive early but Dorada is able to dodge it and toss Bandido shoulder first into the barricade. Bandido comes up favoring his shoulder and Dorada goes to work on him, forcing Bandido to fight from underneath. Some awesome back and forth action as these two go all out with their offense. Dorada goes for a Shooting Star Press but Bandido gets his knees up to block and looks for the 21-Plex. Dorada is able to block and sets up Bandido for a top rope Hurricanrana but Bandido rolls through into a sunset bomb for a near-fall. X-Knee by Bandido followed by the 21-Plex and Bandido retains! Just an awesome highlight reel match from these two. Tons of awesome counters, sequences and near-falls plus some great selling by Bandido, who had to fight back at times with one arm. ****1/4

Open the Twin Gate Championship Match: Dragon Dia and Yuki Yoshioka (c) vs. JACKY KAMEI and Riiita at Dragon Gate Gate of Destiny 2025 Night 2: A good but simple tag match from these two teams. We get some feeling out early from both teams before KAMEI comes flying in with a double dropkick to quicken the pace. I love the storytelling early on with KAMEI and Riiita being the faster of the two teams so Dia and Yuki have to use their size and power to isolate and work over KAMEI for some heat. Eventually Riiita gets the hot tag and picks the pace back up as we get into a crazy back and forth from these two teams. Tons of tag team offense, counters and false finishes before KAMEI and Riiita are able to clear the way for Riiita to hit Dia with the Riiitanic and get the win. Just a fun bell to bell, action-filled match. Some incredible counters and sequences from all 4 men involved. ****

TNA X-Division Championship Match: Leon Slater (c) vs. Je'Von Evans at TNA Bound for Glory 2025: An excellent back and forth match from these two future stars. We get a very friendly but competitive opening exchange as both men toy with each other but things quickly start to get heated and the aggression picks up. From there, we get a more high impact back and forth as neither man is able to maintain control of the match for long before their opponent is able to come back with some big offense of their own. Evans at one point hits a nasty OG Cutter taking Slater from the apron to the floor, only for Slater to counter an OG Cutter later in the ring with a neckbreaker in mid-air! Match spills to the floor as both men dive at each other into and out of the crowd when the bell rings for the time limit draw! But wait! The match is restarted! And these two go off! Running knee for Evans for a 2 count. Slater comes back with an Utopia and a big dive over the ring post! Slater goes to the top but Evans rushes up and hits a Spanish Fly! The lights go out and Darkstate runs out to attack both men. Match is a No Contest. Goddamnit! We got a nice slow build before these two started pulling off the bigger and bigger bombs. After the tease of the time limit draw, both men came out the gate swinging for the fences and were building to an awesome finish... and then TNA had to be TNA. What a shame. ****1/4

AEW TNT Championship Match: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Ace Austin at AEW Collision 11/8: A super fun back and forth battle of the powerhouse Fletcher and the faster Austin. Bell sounds and right away Austin looks to use his speed to try for some quick pinning combinations to catch Fletcher off guard. Fletcher is able to cut off Austin with some nice power offense and tries to ground him, however, Fletcher gets a bit too cocky early and Austin tries to fire up and fight back. Some awesome back and forth exchanges from both men with Austin being seemingly just too quick for Fletcher to slow down for long. Awesome sequence of Austin looking for The Fold before Fletcher counters into a Brainbuster! Kick-out by Austin! Fletcher looks for another but Austin small packages him! Kick-out! Another roll-up by Austin but Fletcher kicks out and levels Austin with a Lariat! Leg Lariat in the corner and Fletcher hits the Turnbuckle Brainbuster to end it. Great showing by Austin that got the crowd super behind him and all his near-falls. Austin was able to keep Fletcher on his toes almost all match before Fletcher busted out the big guns to end it. ****

IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship Match: Gabe Kidd (c) vs. Shingo Takagi at NJPW Destruction in Kobe 2025: A hard hitting Hoss fight! Both men come out the gate swinging and here we go! Match spills to the floor early with both men swinging chairs at each other and brawling around ringside. It is chaos! Match finally gets in the ring and it is all action. Lots of chops. slaps, lariats, kicks and big offensive bombs from both men. Gabe digs deep to pull off some wild offense like a top rope Hurricanrana before drilling Shingo with an O-Knee for a near-fall. Shingo is able to fire back and fight off Gabe to hit a Made in Japan off the apron through two tables! Gabe is just barely able to beat the count-out, only for Shingo to meet him in the ring and start hammering him. Burning Dragon and Pumping Bomber only gets a 2 on Gabe, who counters a Last of the Dragon into a piledriver to cut off Shingo! The two trade stiff strikes until Gabe rocks Shingo with a Lariat and finally ends things with a Drill a Hole Piledriver for the win. Just two men beating the holy hell out of each other. Lots of great exchanges and sequences from both men before Gabe was able to hit enough big bombs to put Shingo away. ****

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Adam Page vs. Powerhouse Hobbs at AEW Dynamite 11/12-Blood and Guts 2025: A super fun and exciting brawl! Bell sounds and both men come out swinging away. We can see very clearly from the start that Page is the faster of the two but Hobbs' power is able to stop Page when he gets a hold of him. Match spills to the floor and Page launches himself at Hobbs, who catches him for a World's Strongest Slam on the apron, announce table and the ring steps! Good Lord! Hobbs works over Page and looks for a powerbomb on top of the announce table but Page backdrops Hobbs to the floor! Holy Shit! Hobbs bounced off the floor! Page clotheslines Hobbs into the crowd as we get a nice walk and brawl all around the arena before Hobbs cuts off Page with a Spinebuster through a table! Hobbs looks to follow up by throwing Page off the balcony but Page fights back and rocks Hobbs. Page takes off his boot to hit Hobbs, who drops from the balcony through a table and electrical equipment! Holy Shit! Page covers and gets the win in a wild match! This was great! A solid TV match to put over Page as a fighter while making Hobbs look like a monster that Page had to slay. ****

Blood and Guts Match: The Death Riders vs. Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong at AEW Dynamite 11/12-Blood and Guts 2025: An epic, violent and bloody war of a match! Darby and Yuta start off the match hot with Darby diving onto Yuta when he tries to stall on the outside. Darby goes to work on Yuta and bloodies him early with a thumbtack-covered skateboard. Orange Cassidy enters and stabs Yuta with his sunglasses as the babyfaces take turns beating up Yuta. Daniel Garcia enters to help even things up and tries to wear down the babyfaces with submissions to buy time. Mark Briscoe's music hits but he is nowhere to be seen. Mark is hurt backstage so Roderick Strong enters and starts breaking some backs. Claudio Castagnoli enters and immediately stops the babyfaces' momentum with his size and power and even busts open Roderick. Kyle O'Reilly enters to try and help his team get back into the match. Jon Moxley enters and ups the violence by attacking the babyfaces with a fork! O'Reilly is busted open and bleeding buckets! Mark still isn't able to enter as the last member of his team while the Death Riders are in full force with PAC entering last and utilizing a bunch of weapons to punish the babyfaces. Darby hits a Coffin Drop onto the Death Riders from the ceiling of the cage to buy some time as Mark finally makes his way into the match! Mark starts clearing house and even sets up a table on the outside and looks to jump off the top of the cage. Yuta is there to stop him as the two fight on top of the cage ending with Mark nailing Yuta with a Jay Driller on the roof! Gabe Kidd runs out and drags Darby up the ramp with PAC, while in the ring Moxley staples Cassidy's hands in his pockets! That sick fuck! Gabe and PAC double team Darby before PAC press slams Darby off the stage through a pair of flaming tables! Jesus Christ! Moxley looks to choke out O'Reilly, who just flips off Moxley! Cassidy and Roderick come to the rescue and start taking out the Death Riders one by one! Orange Punch to Moxley and O'Reilly locks him in an Ankle Lock! Moxley fights like crazy to escape, even getting in a choke for a moment until O'Reilly reverses it back into an Ankle Lock! O'Reilly grapevines the leg as Moxley is caught in the hold in a pile of broken glass! Moxley taps out! Moxley has quit again! While a little long, this was one hell of a match! Some awesome and violent spots before we got into the insane shit including a pair of flaming tables! Love that yet again, Moxley is the one to quit and lose the big match for the Death Riders while the babyfaces stand tall. ****1/2

Yuya Uemura vs. Yuto-Ice at NJPW Road to King of Pro Wrestling 2025 Night 2: An awesome fight between these two! From the opening bell, Ice wants to fight and brawl while Yuya tries to keep things as a wrestling match. Ice is able to get Yuya to the outside and brawl into the crowd a bit, ending with a running knee driving Yuya's head through a table! Back in the ring, Yuya is able to fire up and start dishing out his own big strikes but in a nice touch: every time he goes for a cover and Ice kicks out, Yuya goes for an arm submission on the previously injured elbow of Ice. Some incredible strike exchanges and bombs from both men including an awesome spot of Ice slapping Yuya, only for Yuya to fire back with a stiff headbutt! Yuya is able to lock in an armbar but Ice just refuses to give up. Yuya breaks the hold and Ice spits in his face! Deadbolt Suplex by Yuya and right into a kimura and finally Ice has to tap! What a match! Loved the intensity and aggression to everything these two did. Some great storytelling with Ice wanting to punish Yuya for injuring him years ago and Yuya proving he can fight back just as hard while also going after that same injury. Great stuff! ****1/4

Darby Allin vs. PAC at AEW Full Gear 2025: A very good straight up wrestling match from these two. Things start off with some quick wrestling back and forth from both men. We can see that PAC has the power advantage while Darby looks to be quicker and maybe just a hair better than PAC on the mat. PAC turns things around though by upping the aggression with a press slam from the apron to the floor! Good Lord! From there, PAC goes after the burns on Darby's body and starts tossing him around the ring for some sick bumps and really good heat. Darby starts to rally and pulls off some of his classic innovative offense to fight back on the larger man. Some really good back and forth sequences before PAC looks for the Black Arrow and misses. Darby locks in the Scorpion Death Lock and Wheeler Yuta runs out to distract the referee. PAC takes the opening and nails Darby with the baseball bat and steals a win. Super fun match that told a very easy to follow story in the ring. PAC wanted to beat Darby in a wrestling match but in the end, had to rely on a distraction and a weapon shot to put Darby away. ****

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Brodido (c) vs. FTR at AEW Full Gear 2025: An incredible tag team match! Easy to follow story and flow to the match with Brody being the powerhouse of his team while Bandido uses his quickness and agility to compete with the tag team expertise of FTR. Each time control of the match switches it is due to one team leaning on their speciality to do so, which is really great. FTR gets some nice heat by cutting off the ring and isolating Bandido for a while before Brody gets the hot tag and things pick up. Lots of back and forth tag team offense before Brody goes for a dive on Dax but Stokely pushes him out of the way and takes the bullet for him! Bandido is alone against FTR and does his best to fight back, even hitting a 21-Plex on Cash, only to fall right into a Shatter Machine! Cover but Brody makes the save! Cash grabs one of the belts and nails Bandido for another cover. Kickout! Brodido fights back and nails a Shatter Machine of their own for a 2 count! Cash takes out Brody with a huge dive on the outside and FTR sets up Bandido for a Doomsday Device. Bandido reverses it into a Moonsault Slam! Holy Shit! Brody tries to choke out Dax but Cash makes the save and FTR hits a Spiked Piledriver on the apron to Brody! He is done! Spiked Piledriver to Bandido BUT HE KICKS OUT! OH MY GOD! Bandido flips off FTR and takes one last Shatter Machine for the cover and the win. FTR are the new tag team champions! What a match! The slow build with everyone playing their role in the match to perfection before we got into the bigger back and forth offense. FTR kept trying to keep Brody down to isolate Bandido and eventually were able to get the win using that tactic but Bandido goes down fighting. Awesome match to end Brodido's reign with the belts! ****1/2

No Disqualification Match for the AEW TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Mark Briscoe at AEW Full Gear 2025: A bloody and violent fight between these two! Bell sounds and these two get right into it and bring out the weapons early. Chairs, steel steps and ladders are all used to punish the other and both men are busted open early. Really enjoy Mark willing to risk his body with more high risk offense while Fletcher looks to be more methodical with his offense. We get some wild table bumps before Fletcher brings out thumbtacks, only for Mark to suplex Fletcher into the tacks. Froggy Bow from the top of a ladder through a table by Mark to Fletcher for a big near-fall. Insane spot! Mark breaks out a barbed wire table but Fletcher attacks with the Don Callis screwdriver! Brainbuster in the tack but Mark kicks out! Insane spot with Fletcher looking for a Turnbuckle Brianbuster onto the screwdriver but Mark is able to fight it off. The two go back and forth for a bit looking for the killing blow before Mark hits a Razor's Edge through the barbed wire table! Jay Driller into the tacks and Mark finally wins AEW gold! What a war from these two. Tons of wild spots and big bombs with these two trying to kill each other. Feels good to see Mark Briscoe finally get the big singles win. ****1/2

$1,000,000 Trios Match: Jurassic Express and Kenny Omega vs. The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander at AEW Full Gear 2025: A very fun trios match. Things start off very standard with Jurassic Express running wild and using their teamwork to frustrate the Bucks and Alexander early. Omega gets tagged in but very quickly his damaged ankle plays a factor and leads to him getting cut off by Alexander. Decent little heat before Omega is able to find an opening and tags out. Match becomes very back and forth with lots of quick tags and double team offense. Really good storytelling with Omega being the weak link of his team, leading to the heels targeting him especially Alexander. Awesome near-fall with Alexander locking Omega in an Ankle Lock and the Bucks nailing him with a BTE Trigger, but Omega still fights to the ropes! TK Driver is blocked and Jurassic Express nails Countdown To Extinction on Matt but Alexander is there with the save! Double Doomsday Device on the Bucks but they land on their feet and superkick Omega and Luchasaurus out the ring. Perry tries for a quick roll-up but is countered right into a BTE Trigger and the win for the Bucks and Alexander. Just a fun and enjoyable match with 6 really good workers. I enjoyed Omega's selling and the fact that Alexander was so determined to go after him while the Bucks just wanted to get the win. Solid match. ****

Continental Classic 2025 Gold League Match: Kazuchika Okada vs. Kyle Fletcher at AEW Dynamite 11/26-Thanksgiving Eve 2025: A really good back and forth match between two heels. Things start off very evenly with both men able to block and catch the other's strikes and looks to be a friendly contest between stablemates. Fletcher is able to start taking control with his power, only for Okada to cut him off by pushing the referee into the top when Fletcher is on the top rope. Nice bit of heel fun that leads to Okada getting some heat, only for Fletcher to do the same tatioc right back. Match becomes a battle of back and forth bombs with the nice touch of Okada looking for the Rainmaker every chance he gets but Fletcher is able to block it. Some really good near-falls down the stretch as time starts to run out. Fletcher looks for the Brainbuster to finish things but Okada rakes his eyes to block it. Rainmaker by Okada but Fletcher counters with a roll-up for the 3! Fletcher pins Okada again in the C2! Really good bell to bell match with some nice simple and subtle storytelling mixed in. Really like the idea of Fletcher having Okada's number yet again. ****

Continental Classic 2025 Gold League Match: Kevin Knight vs. Darby Allin at AEW Dynamite 11/26-Thanksgiving Eve 2025: A fast paced and action filled match. Both men start off with some quick exchanges before Knight nails a big monkey flip that sends Darby into the ropes and follows up with a beautiful moonsault off the guard rail. From there, we get a neat story to the match with Knight stay on top of the banged up Darby and not allowing him to get any momentum. At one point, Darby goes to the top looking for a Coffin Drop early but Knight rushes to the top and nails a Back Suplex to stop him. Darby keeps looking for ways to cut off Knight but Knight is too quick and Darby too banged up to really gain any ground. Knight nails a DDT on the ramp and looks for a count-out but when Darby gets to his feet and moves to get back in the ring, Knight leaps over the top for an awesome clothesline! UFO Splashes misses and Darby hits a desperation Code Red for a near-fall. Darby knows he needs to go for broke so he again looks for the Coffin Drop, but Knight cuts him off and traps Darby in the Tree of Woe. Coast to Coast Dropkick by Knight! Holy Shit! UFO Splash connects and Knight pins Darby! What an upset! Great stuff here! Darby came in banged up and Knight knew it so he kept his foot on the gas and was able to overwhelm Darby and get the big upset win early in the C2. What a match! ****

Continental Classic 2025 Blue League Match: Orange Cassidy vs. Claudio Castagnoli at AEW Dynamite 11/26-Thanksgiving Eve 2025: A fun back and forth power vs. speed match. Right from the opening bell we get a clear story of the match with Cassidy looking to use his speed to counter Claudio's power. Doesn't take Claudio long to grab a hold of Cassidy and start ragdolling him around the ring and ringside. Cassidy is able to eventually rally and make a comeback with some quick counters on Claudio. Nice touch with Cassidy finding success with a series of DDTs to keep rocking Claudio and keeping him on defense.  Finishing stretch is an awesome series of back and forth counters from these two men that know each other so well. Claudio is finally able to muscle Cassidy up and nail Swiss Death for the win. Just a fun match from these two. ****
