With my recent post about my dream AEW roster getting such a positive reaction, I figured it only made sense to do one for the WWE. But with the WWE comes a tricky issue: do I have two split rosters? Do I use NXT guys? Do I cut the people with one foot out the door? In the end, I made a few judgement calls. There is ONE roster and only one. Anyone not listed I would keep on for the odd matches here and there and possibly be picked to be part of the Top 8 or The New Batch the following year. Only using main roster talent, which means people like Ciampa, Rex Steiner and Io Shirai are not eligible to be on my roster. As with my last article, we will be rolling the Top 8 of Mr. Verne Gagne. Here we go
Top 8 Men: -Roman Reigns -Drew McIntyre -AJ Styles -Big E -Bobby Lashley -Damien Priests -Finn Balor -Keith Lee -Brock Lesnar, Edge and Rey Mysterio for special shows and big PPVs This was honestly one of the harder parts of my roster. Vince has a lot of top names or guys that should be top names. Roman and Drew were easy picks. These two are stars and easily the two biggest stars in WWE right now. AJ is another top guy and also a fantastic wrestler who can work with anyone. Big E only recently started getting a big push as a top guy and honestly I would continue this push. Big E is charismatic, talented and recently a great worker in the ring. Lashley is on one last great run that I would absolutely take advantage while he is still able to deliver. Priest has top guy written all over him and is one of the few NXT call-ups that Vince hasn't ruined so no reason to stop that push. Balor is easily one of the best workers and the smallest of the Top 8, which honestly would help him stand out and look unique. Last is Keith Lee. This man has had the It Factor for years on the indies and even in NXT and it is crazy that his main roster run has flopped like it has, but I think we could forgive that and make Keith Lee a star in the WWE. Lastly I would want to keep Lesnar, Rey and Edge around for special shows and big events to make those shows feel even bigger.
The New Batch: -Chad Gable -Dominik Dijakovic (I am not calling him T-Bar) -Karrion Kross -Kevin Owens -Mustafa Ali -Ricochet -Sami Zayn -Seth Rollins For The New Batch, my idea was to take talent that are younger but still experienced and that just need time to give a new gimmick or just let the crowd see what they can do and get over naturally. Gable, Owens and Ricochet are all fantastic wrestlers that only need to be given a platform to wrestle and get over that way. Maybe a manager to talk for Ricochet or a mask a la Lucha Underground. Dijakovic, Kross, Ali, and Rollins all have garbage gimmicks that need to go. All 4 of these men as themselves would be enough to get over. Kross should be his old NXT self and Rollins should be a fiery babyface because he works like one. Love Ali as heel so put him in Ricochet on a PPV in the undercard and let them show off for the crowd. Zayn is already one of the best heel on the main roster but I would let him help get all these guys over along with himself and next year position him as one of the top heels. Top 8 Tag Teams: -The Street Profits -Ziggler and Roode -Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin -The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) -The Usos -Viking Raiders -The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) -RKBro (Randy Orton and Riddle) The tag division is where WWE really struggled, at least when stretched over 2 rosters. Street Profits, New Day, and Viking Raiders as babyfaces of the division would be great especially when matched with the heel teams of Ziggler/Roode, Alexander/Benjamin, and The Usos. I reunited The Bar because while I hate taking both guys away from being singles wrestlers, they were a powerful team and could have some classics with every team here. I really didn't want to team up Orton and Riddle but Orton is played out as a top singles wrestler and Riddle needs some help to move up in the eyes of the fans before I would put him as a singles guy. I would hopefully have room to split up those two teams next year.
Top 8 Women: -Asuka -Bayley -Becky Lynch -Bianca Belair -Charlotte Flair -Rhea Ripley -Shayna Baszler -Sasha Banks The women's division is another that would struggle with 2 different rosters. However, with one joined roster the women's division is stacked. The 4 Horsewomen would obviously be the main focus for the division with Asuka right there with them. I would book Baszler like Ronda was booked: like a monster. Make her one of the most feared women on the roster like she should be. Lastly, I would be using Bianca and Rhea as my rising stars that will be taking over the division sooner rather than later. This roster honestly would be of the the best women's division in modern memory. And there's my roster! Do you agree? Who do you think belongs on this list? Let me know.
