Top Matches I Watched in May 2026

By Alex Kalil

I feel like 2026 is finally hitting its peak with this month! We got great TV from AEW, thanks to Darby's title run, plus an ALL TIME PPV with Double or Nothing. NJPW, CMLL and some Joshis mixed in plus WWE had a good PPV and had one of the best Mask vs. Mask matches I have seen in years!

AEW National Championship Match: Jack Perry (c) vs. Mascara Dorada at AEW Collision 5/2: A fun and fast paced match. Both men start off with some quick counters and exchanges before things settle into a nice flow for the match. Dorada utilizes more of his high flying and lucha style offense while Perry goes for unique counters and quick pin attempts. Big highlight early with Dorada hitting Perry with a Destroyer on the barricade! From there, Perry is working from underneath but still finds ways to land some big offense of his own. Some close near-falls as Dorada lands a 450 and a Hangman DDT for 2 counts. Shooting Star Press by Dorada but Perry gets his knees up and rolls up Dorada for only 2. Dorada goes back to the top but Perry is able to catch him with a Hurricanrana from the top into a tight pin for the 3. Just a fun back and forth match from two guys going all out at full speed. ****

Three Way Match for the Campeon Universal Del CMLL 2026 Final: Hechicero vs. Black Tiger vs. Mascara Dorada at CMLL 70 Aniversario Arena Mexico: A very fun and exciting 3 way match. Things start off with some fun back and forth 3 way spots before we get the standard 2 in, 1 out style of match. Really enjoyed the subtle storytelling with Hechicero being the main villain of the match with his strength and technical wrestling while Dorarda is the high flying babyface and Black Tiger the powerhouse of the match. Some really amazing sequences and big high spots throughout the match from all 3 men. Hechicero gets frustrated as the match goes on with Dorada's babyface comebacks and tries to rip off his mask before going after his knee to slow down the high flyer. Referee checks on Dorada at one point and Black Tiger mists Hechicero. Dorada is able to lay out Black Tiger and goes to the top, only to rope walk and hit an insane dive on Hechicero to take him out! Back to the top and Dorada hits a Shooting Star Press on Black Tiger to get the win! An easy to watch and super fun match! Everyone added to the match and played their role perfectly before Dorada overcame the odds and got the win. ****

Sareee and Takumi Iroha vs. Chihiro Hashimoto and Syuri at Sareee-ISM Chapter X Taiyoshin Chronicle 15th Anniversary: A physical and hard hitting fight from all 4 of these women. Sareee and Syuri get right into it with some quick mat wrestling and trading holds. Awesome spot early with Syuri and Chihiro trying to isolate and work over Takumi, only for Takumi to lay in some leg kicks on Syuri to show she is not a pushover. Not much of a story to the match as instead each woman plays a subtle role to the action. Sareee and Syuri are both the hard hitting technical and submission wrestlers while Chihiro is the powerhouse and Takumu the fast paced striker. Loved seeing Chihiro being such a force all match as she is able to cut off both Sareee and Takumi multiple times even while working together. In the end, a spin kick by Takumi rocks Chihiro for Sareee to hit a trio of Uranages for a cover but Syuri makes the save. One final arm-trapped Uranage from Sareee finishes it and gets the win. Just a straight up fun match to watch. These women all beat the hell out of each other with big strikes, kicks and bombs before Sareee and Takumi were able to work together to get the win. ****

AEW World Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Kevin Knight at AEW Dynamite 5/6: A great fast paced and intense match. We start off with some quick chain wrestling from both men. A great touch with things being very even on the mat and both men clearly working with purpose and an intensity to their offense. The action keeps building with Knight sending Darby to the floor with a dropkick but Darby comes back with some quick strikes and a Code Red. Huge dive to the outside by Darby but when he looks for a dropkick off the top rope, Knight cuts him off and hits a Hurricanrana from Bret's rope to the floor! Knight sets Darby up on the announcers' table and hits an insane Springboard Clothesline from the ring to send him and Darby up and over the table to the floor! Holy Shit! Knight comes up selling his knee but gets Darby in the ring and goes to the top only to leaps into a Scorpion Death Lock by Darby! Knight is quickly able to get to the ropes but Darby follows up by going to the top himself. Coffin Drop by Darby but Knight gets his knees up, even as it does damage to himself. Knight sets up Darby in the corner as Darby tries to fight out, but Knight still gets him in the Tree of Woe. Coast To Coast Dropkick by Knight! UFO Splash to follow up but Knight hurts his knee on the landing! Knight finally covers but Darby kicks out! Knight goes back to the top but Darby is able to roll away from him. Knight follows and Darby kicks his knee out from under him and locks him in a Guillotine Choke! Knight is able to fight to his feet and get to the ropes but Darby traps him in the ropes and lays in some shots. Darby drapes Knight over the top rope and hits a Coffin Drop to the dangling Knight! A second Coffin Drop by Darby gets him the win! Just an awesome match! The slow start was great as it showed off both men's wrestling ability before we got into the crazy offense that both men do so well. Knight took a big risk early, which hurt his knee and ended up preventing him from getting the win over Darby as he had before. ****

IYO SKY vs. Asuka at WWE Backlash 2026: A good battle of mentor vs. former student. Match starts off and right away we get a clear story to the action as Asuka tries to ground the high flying IYO with submissions and lay in some big strikes. IYO does a nice job fighting back all match by pushing the pace with her speed and high flying offense. Great back and forth from both women as Asuka targets IYO's arm to set up for the Asuka Lock but IYO doesn't seem to be slowing down and keeps fighting back. Match spills to the outside and Asuka goes for the mist out of desperation but IYO blocks it with one of the announcers' tablet. Super clever spot. IYO takes back over and goes for the Over the Moonsault but Asuka avoids and locks her in a Triangle Choke. Asuka is able to transition into the Asuka Lock and IYO looks to be fading but she is able to roll back into a pin, forcing Asuka to let go of the hold to kick out. Both women trade blows before IYO German Suplexes Asuka into the corner. Bullet Train Knees and IYO hits the Over the Moonsault for the win! Sudden finish aside, this was really good. A back and forth fight from two really great wrestlers that told a solid story in the ring. Asuka tried everything to keep IYO down, even cheating, but failed as her student finally surpasses her. ****

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash 2026: A really awesome fight that put over Fatu as a monster. Things kick off with Roman trying to bully Fatu early but Fatu isn't having it and locks in the Tongan Death Grip early to cut off Roman's early momentum. Roman switches tactics and tries to work smarter with a neck snap in the ropes and working over Fatu's right arm to try and neutralize the Tongan Death Grip. But when Roman tries to use his power on Fatu again, Fatu easily absorbs the hits and fires back on Roman. Fatu misses a charge in the corner and Roman hits a Superman Punch for only a 1 count! Fatu is not going down easily! We get some nice big shots back and forth before Roman takes the fight to the outside but again, Fatu uses the Tongan Death Grip to cut him off and powerbombs Roman through the announcers' table! Fatu gets Roman back in the ring but Roman recovers and hits a Spear! Only 2! Roman goes for another Spear but Fatu hits a Pop-Up Samoan Drop. Moonsault by Fatu and a cover! Kickout! Fatu goes back to the top for a Swanton but Roman gets his knees up to block it. The two men trade strikes until Fatu knocks Roman into the corner for a pair of hip attacks. Tongan Death Grip back in and Roman is fading! Roman has to gouge at Fatu's eyes to break the hold and fight back before hitting a Spear. Another kickout! Fatu gets the Tongan Death Grip back on! Roman is reaching for anything to grab on to and inadvertently pulls off a turnbuckle pad. Roman runs Fatu head first into the exposed turnbuckle and hits a Spear to get the win! This was really good! I loved seeing Roman's confidence at beating Fatu being chipped away as the match went on as he saw just how dangerous Fatu was. Fatu played the wild man well and used the Tongan Death Grip throughout the match to cut off Roman before finally using it to try and end things, but Roman was able to fight smarter to survive and retain. ****

AEW World Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Dynamite 5/13: An exciting and hard hitting battle of speed vs. power. Darby comes out the gate with a dropkick and goes for a dive on the floor but Takeshita catches him and slams Darby into the apron. Early portion of the match is all Takeshita as he throws Darby around with ease and lays in big strikes looking for an easy win. Darby does an amazing job bumping like a boss for Takeshita while still finding ways to fight back for some hope spots. Takeshita looks for a Powerdrive Knee on the floor but Darby manages to avoid it and Takeshita hits the steel steps to give Darby an opening to hit a Code Red. Darby starts rolling for a bit but goes for a Coffin Drop on the outside and Takeshita stops him to hit a Blue Thunder Bomb off the apron to the floor! Holy Shit! Back in the ring, Darby recovers and tries to fight back with some quick strikes and a Guillotine Choke. A second Code Red by Darby is countered by Takeshita and turned into a Bastard Driver/Wheelbarrow German Suplex. Takeshita sets up Darby on the top rope and hits an absolutely insane top rope German Suplex with a fucking bridge! Kickout by Darby! Powerdrive Knee by Takeshita but Darby kicks out again! El Clon comes out and draws the referee's attention, which gives Don Callis time to give Takeshita the Diamond Ring, but Takeshita tosses it away! Small Package by Darby! Kickout by Takeshita, who comes back with an elbow. Takeshita takes Darby back up top but Darby counters with a Code Red off the top. Last Supper by Darby but Takeshita kicks out! Takeshita rolls to the floor to recover but Darby comes off the top with a Coffin Drop! Both men struggle to their feet as Takeshita breaks the count and looks for a Raging Fire on the steep steps. Darby is able to slip behind Takeshita and hits a Scorpion Death Drop on the steps instead! Coffin Drop by Darby to Takeshita on the floor! Darby frantically gets Takeshita back in the ring for the cover but Takeshita recovers enough to kick out at 2. Another Coffin Drop but Takeshita gets his knees up and crucifixes Darby for a near-fall. Powerdrive Knee and Takeshita looks to follow up with Raging Fire but again, Darby counters and locks in the Scorpion Death Lock! Takeshita is able to drag himself to the ropes to break the hold, only for Darby to immediately jump to the top and hit a Coffin Drop! One more Coffin Drop by Darby, who covers and gets the win! My God, what a match! Takeshita was able to use his power all match to hammer Darby with big strikes and offense but Darby was able to take a beating and keep coming back. Some awesome near-falls for both men and nice storytelling with Takeshita refusing to cheat to beat Darby, only to fail doing it the "honorable" way. Awesome match! ****1/2

ROH World Championship Match: Bandido (c) vs. Blake Christian at ROH Supercard of Honor 2026: A very good back and forth match. We start off with some quick back and forth exchanges with Bandido coming out with the advantage until Jay Lethal and Lee Johnson get involved at ringside. The distraction allows Blake to take over with his own impressive dive and goes to work on Bandido's leg to slow him down and affect his strength. Some nice heat by Blake as he works the leg and Bandido fights back a few times, only for Blake to go back to the leg to cut him off. Lethal and Johnson try to get involved again but end up getting ejected from ringside. Bandido starts to gain on Blake and we get a back and forth flow to the match. Lots of awesome counters and sequences from both men with Blake nicely trying to pick apart Bandido instead of trying to go blow for blow with him. Some big near-falls for both men including Bandido hitting the 21-Plex for a near-fall and Blake countering a Moonsault Slam into a Poison Rana from the top and right into a 450 for a 2 count. More back and forth action before Blake grabs the belt and looks to hit Bandido. Referee stops Blake and takes the belt away but Blake kicks Bandido low! Double Stomp by Blake! Only 2! Blake goes for another Double Stomp but Bandido lifts him into a Styles Clash! Deadlift 21-Plex by Bandido, who gets the win! A really good match that allowed Blake to show off his in-ring intelligence by picking apart Bandido to try and get the win. Bandido sold great for Blake throughout the match before overcoming the odds in the end to get the win. ****

IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match: Callum Newman (c) vs. Shingo Takagi at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku 2026 Night 2: A really great match of speed vs. power. Bell sounds and Newman immediately stalls and toys with Shingo, who is here to fight. Really enjoy the opening exchanges as it highlights the story of the whole match: Newman is the faster wrestler but also has to work smarter to take over on the powerhouse Shingo. A quick knee to Shingo's gut cuts off his early momentum and makes a target of his ribs, which Newman keeps going back to time and time again. Shingo does a nice job finding openings to fight back for hope spots including a great spot of him avoiding a dive by Newman, only for Shingo to hit his own dive for a big pop! Shingo's momentum is cut off again though by Newman going to the ribs and even dropping Shingo through the timekeeper's table for a near count-out. Shingo isn't staying down though and starts firing back as we get some awesome back and forth sequences. Great spot of Newman going for the Oscutter, only for Shingo to counter with a Cutter of his own and a Dangerous Driver for a big near-fall. Newman looks out of it but he is playing possum and sucker punches Shingo in the ribs before an Oscutter and near-fall of his own. Newman comes up favoring his knee and hurts it more when he misses Excalibur. Referee checks on Newman but Newman tosses him from the ring to allow United Empire members to jump Shingo, but they are fought off by Daiki Nagai and Yota Tsuji. The interference still gives Newman time to recover and hit Excalibur on Shingo for a 2 count. Made in Essex by Newman for another 2! Prince's Curse! But only 2 again! Newman gets cocky because he thinks he has Shingo on the ropes but the Rampaging Dragon isn't done yet and fires back! A big Lariat by Shingo, who looks for Made in Japan. Newman blocks it and tries for a low blow, but Shingo catches the leg and hits Made in Japan! And a second one! Only 2! Pumping Bomber by Shingo followed by Burning Dragon! Newman kicks out! Shingo starts laying in Lariats and Newman tries to fight back but gets a headbutt for his troubles. Shingo lifts Newman for Last of the Dragon but Newman grabs the referee to stop it. A low blow to Shingo and Prince's Curse. Kickout! Kiss the Crown by Newman, who follows up by lifting Shingo for almost a GTS like stiff kick to the ribs. Newman looks for MAKE WAY but Shingo is able to block and hits a Poison Rana! Lariat by Shingo for only 2. Shingo goes for the Pumping Bomber but Newman pulls the referee in the way to stop Shingo. Another low blow by Newman! MAKE WAY hits and Newman retains! A really great match that told a solid story all match. Shingo had the clear power advantage and was able to take Newman's best shots to the point where Newman had to cheat to finally keep him down and retain. I would have preferred one low blow right at the end instead of interference and multiple low blows during the match, but this still worked. ****1/4

Anything Goes Match: Mark Briscoe vs. Tommaso Ciampa at AEW Dynamite 5/20: A wild, chaotic and bloody brawl! Mark comes in hot and goes right after Ciampa with a trash can full of weapons. Mark sets Ciampa on a table early, but takes too long up top allowing Ciampa to recover and throw him from the top through the table on the floor! Ciampa goes to work on Mark for a bit and busts him up with a cheese grater for a nasty looking spot. Mark is able to fire back with a comeback thanks to a fire extinguisher and a cookie sheet. Mark, yet again, takes too long setting up a table, this time with barbed wire, and Ciampa cuts him off. Ciampa puts on a knee pad covered in thumbtacks but gets tripped into a ladder by Mark when charging at him. Mark attacks Ciampa with a screwdriver to bust him open before looking to put him through a ladder but Ciampa fights out and suplexes Mark through the ladder for a 2 count. Thumbtack covered knee to Mark's face and Ciampa looks to end it! Ciampa sets up two chairs and looks for a Bret's rope Psycho Driller. Mark fights out and sends Ciampa back first onto the chairs in a brutal looking spot! Jay Driller from Mark off the apron though the barbed wire table!  Froggy Bow back in the ring and Mark gets the win. A very fun and wild match with these two just doing everything they could to hurt each other. Mark gets the win and some revenge on Ciampa for taking him out. ****

Best of the Super Junior 33 Block A Match: Francesco Akira vs. Kosei Fujita at NJPW Best of the Super Junior 33 Night 1: An intense and high energy fight from these two. Fujita jumps Akira during his entrance and we start off hot with a brawl on the floor that busts up Akira early. Akira, seeing his own blood, gets fired up to fight back and matches the intensity in his offense as he throws Fujita around the arena. Things finally get in the ring as we get a more back and forth flow to the match with Akira using his speed and quick offense while Fujita relies on his strikes and submission work to ground Akira. Some big offense from both men as well as close near-falls and submissions. Fujita is able to counter a Hurricanrana on the floor and powerbombs Akira through a table! Fujita looks to finish things with a German Suplex for a near-fall and Akira starts fighting back. A Poison Rana by Fujita but Akira nails Fireball to the back of Fujita's head for an awesome spot! Akira looks for Speedfire but Fujita is able to counter it and nail Thrill Ride to end things and get the win. Just a very well done and heated match with both men making every strike and piece of offense look personal. Fujita gets the win here but Akira showed he could match him in the ring. ****

Champion vs. Champion Match: Open the Twin Gate Champions JACKY KAMEI and Riiita vs. Sou Ryuo Tag Team Champions Susumu Yokosuka and Kagetora at Dragon Gate Golden Colosseum 2026: A hard hitting battle of the young high flying team vs. the tough as nails veteran team. Things start off quick as KAMEI and Riiita look to use their speed and quickness to push the pace against the older team with lots of quick tags, tag team offense and high flying offense. Susumu and Kagetora are able to isolate and work over both men from time to time as the match goes on and do a great job of just hammering both men. Lots of big strikes and offense including some classic Jimmyz offense for near-falls. KAMEI and Riiita change up tactics and try to out-wrestle their older opponents with lots of roll-up attempts. The action picks up big with both teams working at an insane pace and pulling off some amazing counters and sequences. Awesome spot of KAMEI jumping up to rana Kagetora off the top and Riiita following up with a Double Stomp, only for Susumu to nail a Jumbo Lariat for a near-fall. Holy Shit! In the end, Riiita's speed is able to counter Susumu's power to hit Riiitanic and get the win. Just an awesome fast paced match that told a fun story within the action. ****1/4

Anything Goes Match: Los Americanos Hermanos vs. Los Americanos at AAA on Fox 5/23: A wild brawl of a match! We start off hot with both teams going right at it. Some nice storytelling to the action with Los Americanos being the faster and more high flying of the teams while Los Hermanos look to isolate and work over the babyfaces with big offensive moves. Tons of wild action all match with chairs, tables and even a pinata getting used during the match. Los Hermanos hit a Super Collider and a double Superplex/450 combo for a big near-fall. Rayo comes in with a kendo stick to save Bravo and they take out Bruto with a splash through a table on the floor. Back in the ring, Bravo loads his mask and Los Americanos hit Julio with a Top Rope Headbutt/Russian Leg Sweep combo for the cover! Original El Grande Americano breaks up the pin and suplexes both Los Americanos through tables on the floor! El Grande Americano comes out to take out Lose Hermanos and we get a wild brawl from both Grande Americanos to get the match thrown out! A great match to build up the feud between both Grande Americanos and their teams. The crowd was into all the action and this felt like a fight that got too out of control at the end. ****

I Quit Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage at AEW Double or Nothing 2026: An exciting and violent fight from these two teams. Things start off hot with both teams going right at it and brawling all over the ring and ringside. Weapons come into play early with Christian and Copeland whipping FTR with a piece of barbed wire and a belt respectively, Copeland suplexing Dax into a ladder and Christian using a pair of pliers on FTR. Tide of the match turns when FTR is able to hit Copeland with a Spiked Piledriver on the announcers' table! FTR goes after Christian's injured left arm with a cinder block but Christian won't quit. Match gets back in the ring as everyone starts hitting big bombs with a Killswitch, Spear and Shatter Machine and they even take the top rope apart to attack each other with. Copeland batters Dax with chairshots until Dax begs him off, which gives Stokely an opening to hit Copeland with a watch on his fist. Shatter Machine on Copeland but out comes his wife, Beth Copeland! She takes out Stokely but Dax stops her and lights a table on fire! Cash looks to spear Beth off the apron but hits Stokely by mistake and they both crash through the flaming table! Holy Shit! Dax tries to conchairto Copeland but Beth stops him with a low blow! Another low blow by Christian and a Piledriver by Copeland! Christian locks in the Sharpshooter while Copeland locks in the Grindhouse but Dax still won't quit! Beth gives Copeland Spike and Copeland adds it to the Grindhouse forcing Dax to finally quit! New champions! What a match! This felt like 2 teams going out and trying to maul and murder each other. Some brutal and wild spots that built to a really good finish, with even the run-in by Beth adding to the finish. ****1/2

AEW International Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Double or Nothing 2026: A truly incredible bell to bell match! We get right into it from the start with both men looking for their best shots with a Rainmaker and Raging Fire attempt. We get a bit of back and forth with Takeshita being the faster of the two and in control until Okada is able to drive him into the barricade to slow things down and take over. Really nice storytelling mixed into the action here as Okada gets some heat on Takeshita and gets cocky while doing it. Takeshita gets fired up when Okada mockingly covers him and starts landing some big shots of his own to make a comeback. Okada is able to counter Takeshita in the corner and starts running through some trademark offense but Takeshita blocks the Rainmaker to start off an insane back and forth counter sequence ending with a Rolling Lariat by Okada. Match spills to the apron and Takeshita tries for a Blue Thunder Bomb off the apron. Okada is able to slip off and gets Takeshita in the ropes to hit a Rainmaker off the apron! Beautifully done! DDT on the floor by Okada as he looks to end things with a Tombstone on the floor as well but Don Callis talks him out of it. Okada takes too long getting Takeshita back in the ring and Takeshita recovers enough to drop Okada on the floor with a Brainbuster! Jesus! Back in the ring, Takeshita starts hitting some big bombs as Okada tries for the Rainmaker again. Takeshita goes for the Powerdrive Knee but Okada counters with a Tombstone! Both men are drained but keep fighting as Takeshita rocks Okada with some elbows. A Rainmaker is countered into a Blue Thunder Bomb but the follow up Powerdrive Knee is countered into a Cobra Flowsion! Rainmaker again but Takeshita blocks and Okada goes for a Backslide right into a Rainmaker! Okada keeps wrist control and goes for a proper Rainmaker but Takeshita hits Okada with one instead! Powerdrive Knee is blocked by an Okada dropkick but Takeshita powers through and hits the Powerdrive Knee! Cover! Okada kicks out at 1! Holy Shit! Both men are standing but Okada looks out on his feet. Big Takeshita elbow and Raging Fire finally puts down the Rainmaker! What a fucking match! The in-ring action was just tremendous with counter after counter and both men having each other's best shots well scouted. The storytelling was amazing as well with Takeshita being younger and faster so Okada had to work smarter to try and beat him but in the end, the former Ace of Japan fell to the new Ace of Japan: the Alpha! ****3/4

No Time Limit Match for the AEW Continental Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Kyle O'Reilly at AEW Double or Nothing 2026: A really good technical match from these two. We get some early mat and submission work as both men feel each other out and try to work for openings. O'Reilly is able to utilize his strikes to Moxley's legs to control early and keeps going after the leg with the Ankle Lock, which has tapped out Moxley in the past. Moxley plays it smart though as he takes the fight to the outside and is able to bait O'Reilly into missing a kick and striking the ring post. Now, O'Reilly is the one with a bad leg, which Moxley immediately targets and goes after for some heat. From here, we get some excellent back and forth with Moxley being aggressive and nasty with his offense; twisting O'Reilly's leg and working holds while scratching and biting him. Meanwhile, O'Reilly does a great job working from underneath, even with the one bad leg, and keeps going for his own submissions to wear down Moxley. The match becomes more of a fight as both men start laying in big strikes before Moxley hits the Death Rider and goes right into a choke. O'Reilly rolls back for a near-fall and locks in an Ankle Lock, only for Moxley to lock in one as well for a cool looking spot. O'Reilly lets go of his hold and tries to pin Moxley, but he kicks out and locks the Ankle Lock back in. O'Reilly tries to fight his way to the ropes but Moxley has it locked in deep and O'Reilly has to tap. A really great showcase of technical wrestling. O'Reilly was the better pure wrestler but Moxley was able to make things more of a fight and found a way to beat O'Reilly at his own game. ****

Owen Hart Foundation 2026 Men's Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Samoa Joe vs. Will Ospreay at AEW Double or Nothing 2026: An awesome battle of speed vs. power. Joe makes his entrance and Ospreay surprises him with an Oscutter to start off hot! Ospreay looks to move fast against the bigger and more powerful Joe with lots of quick offense and high risk moves. Joe avoids a Sasuke Special on the floor and locks Ospreay in the Choke to slow him down before slamming him, neck first, right on the barricade. From there, Joe mauls Ospreay to work him over and smartly targets the hurt neck to set up for the Choke and Muscle Buster, while Ospreay tries to fight from underneath. Fantastic spot of Ospreay finding an opening and going for an Oscutter only for Joe to walk away to avoid it. So great and Joe is right back on Ospreay with some submission work to wear him down. Ospreay start to fire up against Joe's onslaugtht and manages to hit a fucking Styles Clash on the big man! Hidden Blade only gets a 2 count. Ospreay goes for another but Joe counters with a gorgeous powerslam. Ospreay tries for his new armbar submission called Death Ground to slow down Joe but Joe counters out and locks Ospreay in the Choke! Ospreay tries for the ropes but can't reach as he fades! Referee checks his arm but Ospreay gets the rope before it drops for the third time! Joe sets up for the Muscle Buster but Ospreay slips out and hits Joe with a Hidden Blade! Cover! Only a 1 count! Ospreay hits him with another Hidden Blade and this one keeps Joe down and gives Ospreay the win! Just an awesome match! I loved Ospreay coming in and looking to move fast against the monstrous Joe, who just beat the hell out of him when he got his hands on him. Ospreay was able to fight back and keep the beast down to get the win in a hard fought match. ****1/4

Owen Hart Foundation 2026 Men's Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Swerve Strickland vs. Bandido at AEW Double or Nothing 2026: A really good back and forth match! Both men come out swinging and we get right into it. Bandido is able to use his speed early to push the pace and keep Swerve on the defensive. A missed spear in the corner by Bandido gives Swerve an opening to hit a German Suplex into the buckle to damage Bandido's neck even more. Swerve slows things down for a bit and gets some heat on Bandido by working the neck. Bandido is able to mount a comeback and we get some nice back and forth from both men before Bandido goes to pop-up Swerve, who stands on Bandido's shoulders and hits a modified House Call! Holy Shit! Swerve Stomp hits but only gets a 2 count! Match rolls to the apron with Swerve looking to end things but Bandido counters with a Poison Rana off the apron to the floor! My God! Bandido gets Swerve back in the ring but Swerve holds the bottom rope to prevent getting picked up. Instead, Bandido hits a deadlift 21-Plex! 1...2... Bandido can't hold the bridge due to the damage done to his neck! Bandido tries for a Code Red but Swerve is able to block, only for Bandido to counter with a Hurricanrana to spike Swerve on top of his head! Swerve is in position and Bandido goes for the 21-Plex, but Swerve counters it into a Cop Killa! House Call by Swerve and that gets him the 3! What a match! A very simple and easy to follow story early on before they built to an insane back and forth finish with some incredible near-falls. Love that Bandido's neck came into play and ended up costing him the match and allowed Swerve to advance. ****

Stadium Stampede Match: The Elite, Chris Jericho, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin vs. The Demand, Mark Davis, Andrade El Edolo, David Finlay and Clark Connors at AEW Double or Nothing 2026: A super fun, chaotic and wild brawl of a match. Everyone gets right into the action as the babyfaces get Ricochet alone and beat him down for a bit. The match spills to the outside as everyone starts hitting big dives and offense all over the arena. Some pretty funny spots early on like Luchasaurus spitting mist in Andrade's face, Jericho attacking Ricochet with tennis balls and a food fight breaking out backstage. Also a few wild spots like Perry crashing a bus to try and hit Davis before the match comes back to ringside and all the heels are put through tables. It comes down to Ricochet and all the babyfaces again as everyone hits their finishers on Ricochet. Jericho goes for the Judas Effect but Kaun pushes Ricochet out of the ring to save him. A 7 way Superkick to Kaun before a Lionsault from Jericho gets the win. While not as crazy or violent as past matches, this was still a super fun match. They did a nice job of making this look like a wild brawl from everyone involved with a few creative moments sprinkled in. ****

Title vs. Hair Match for the AEW World Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. MJF at AEW Double or Nothing 2026: An incredible match from these two rivals full of action and storytelling. Match starts and Darby tries for a Headlock Takeover on MJF for a quick pin, only for MJF to bail to the outside. Darby goes for a dive but MJF avoids it and Darby crashes to the ground hard! MJF tries for a Heatseeker early but Darby is able to block only to get hit with a slingshot Cutter instead. MJF goes to work on Darby, who sells nicely while still going for any offense he can get to put MJF on defense. Headlock Takeover and MJF gets the 3 to reclaim the World Title and keep his hair! What a fucking match that had so many layers into every bit of the action. Darby looked to have MJF's number in a straight up match and so MJF had to be smarter to force Darby to take more and more risk and cause himself damage. In the end, it looked like Darby's body had finally given out on him but he still had one last burst of energy but it wasn't enough to beat MJF here. Plus using the Headlock Takeover all match and as the final pin was a brilliant way to keep this feud going in the future. Pure Pro Wrestling Perfection! *****

All the run-ins had nice callbacks to parts of the feud, the action was physical and violent and the crowd was into every second. ****1/4
